How to request admin rights
If you are a standard user and want admin rights, verify that Privileges is installed. Then follow the steps below:
1. Launch Privileges from your Applications folder or dock.
2. Select a reason from the dropdown.
3. Click on Request Privileges.
4. Provide your computer's login password.
5. A notification should appear, saying that "Administrator privileges were successfully granted".
6. Your account now has administrator rights for 20 minutes.
Note: use your login username and password when entering admin credentials rather than a separate admin account.

How to revert admin rights
1. Launch Privileges from your Applications folder or dock.
2. You should see a confirmation dialog.
3. Click "Revert Privileges" to revert your account to a standard account.
